    Japan’s Funai joined forces with Technicolor to create the Compact Video Cassette (CVC) system in 1984. The Technicolor 212D was one of the lightest and most portable recording system of its time. The format used a 1/4” tape housed in a cassette similar to an audiocassette that was capable of recording up to 30 minutes.
