The Shibaden 1/2” open reel format was introduced at about the same time as the Sony CV-2000. Like the Sony machines, it employed skip-field recording. A two-head version of the machine was developed, but it did not catch on before the EIAJ eclipsed everything in the 1/2” open-reel world. |
