  ® Sony CV-2100
mid 1960s

The CV-2100 was a pre-EIAJ-standard black-and-white recorder using 7" reels and a 7.5-ips tape speed for a 60-minute capacity. “CV” was originally intended to refer to consumer video, but, when the format was not successful among consumers, the letters were said to stand for commercial video.
