This portable, transistorized helical scan broadcast television tape recorder was designed for mobile and studio use. The unit operated at 3.75 ips and could record up to five hours of continuous program material on a single – 1/2” reel of standard 2" tape. The unit included the Ampex “Edicon” electronic editor, which allowed for both insert and assemble edits. The VR-660B was compatible with the VR-1500/660 helical scan recorders. |
