Willi Studer, Germany. 1/4" 1/4-track stereo reel-to-reel recorder/reproducer. 7" EIA or 10 1/2" NAB hub reel. 3 1/4 and7 1/2 ips. First produced in 1967, it was a true semiprofessional recorder. Solenoid transport controls, three heads, NAB/IEC equalization, servo-capstan driven and a choice of 15 and 7 ips or 7 and 3 ips. Rugged three-motor design and easy tape handling made these machines a hit in the late 60’s to early 70’s and many found their way into radio stations and recording studios. Around US$600. |
