PT6-A is the tape transport, accommodating up to 7" reels, 7 1/2 ips. The PT6-R is the record/playback electronics. The PT6-J portable record/playback electronics include a playback amp and speaker. In the late 40’s the Magnecorder was one of the three earliest American-made offerings of high-quality tape recorder systems available for professional use. In 1947, if you didn’t have an Ampex 200 or a Brush Soundmirror, you had a Magnecorder. |
