DESCRIPTION

HDCAM is a compressed digital HDTV format that employs both subsampling and compression to reduce data bandwidth. The latest models can deal with 1080-line signals either interlaced or progressive at a variety of frame rates (not exceeding 30 frames per second). Some models of HDCAM can also play Betacam, Betacam SP, Betacam SX, Digital Betacam, and MPEG IMX tapes.
