A compressed high-definition version of D-5. The machine looks exactly the same as a normal D-5 and early versions of the machines could be used as standard D-5. Later models offer eight channels of audio. The earliest models had an external compression system. The latest models are capable of recording both interlaced and progressive-scan signals at a variety of frame and line rates.
