The V-Cord II was the first consumer machine to offer two recording speeds, freeze-frame and slow motion. It could record up to two hours in color on a tape that cost $35. The V-Cord I stored 20 minutes of black-and-white video. The V-Cords failed because of mechanical unreliability and lack of interest from other manufacturers.
