|
The PI-3V was the first videotape recorder manufactured by Precision Instruments and was based on the Machtronics MVR-11. It was a relatively lightweight (68-lb.) helical-scan recorder with two heads. Although there was little remarkable about this particular model, its successor, the PI-4V, introduced in 1965, was noted for its ability to play pictures at slower-than-normal speeds or even when stopped.
